Yoojung Chung
Yoojung Chung, a native of South Korea, began her music education at age of four with piano lessons. She started accompanying church choirs at the age of thirteen and taking organ lessons from Dr. Dong-Lim Min, a distinguished concert organist throughout South Korea and Germany.
She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance and Church Music at Yonsei University under Professor Myung-Ja Cho, and Master of Music in Organ Performance and Church Music at Northwestern University under Professor Douglas Cleveland, and was awarded the Kenneth G. and Helen C. Merrill Scholarship.
She also attended Indiana University to pursue a DMA under Marilyn Keiser. After completing her first year, she moved to Southern California due to her husband’s job relocation.
Currently, Yoojung is organist at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana. She has served as organist at Westwood UMC and Anaheim UMC in California, as well as other churches in New York, Illinois, and Indiana. She has also served as piano accompanist and adjunct faculty at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo and Concordia University in Irvine.
She is a member of the American Guild of Organists and Music Teachers’ Association of California Orange County Branch, where she served as a Board member.
